Wildlife, Witches & Wellness at Winter Solstice

Le Hocq, St Clement, Jersey, 49.167384, -2.061591

Details

Join us for a walk at Winter Solstice, the day when the Sun travels the shortest path through the sky and we have the least daylight and the longest night. We will take a stroll around the lanes of St Clement inland from Le Hocq, pausing to appreciate the wildlife en route. We associate this season with Holly, Ivy, Mistletoe and the enchanting Robin. Wildflowers offer out of season colour and over-wintering birds bring life to our shores and countryside. We have tales to tell you ... from bygone days, and mysteries within the Parish of St Clement! We hope to coincide with a beautiful sunset at the end of the walk followed by a glass of Mulled Wine and a Mince Pie - upstairs at Le Hocq Inn. After the solstice, the days get longer. Honour your stillness, seek solace in the dark and hope in the light of brighter days to come.
