PLEASE REGISTER WITH THE NAME OF THE SAILOR AND THE CONTACT DETAILS OF THE PARENT This course is for youth sailors from the age of 8 years old on the 31st December. In the past we have tried to seperate complete beginners and sailors with some previous experience by aiming different weeks at different stages, but this has not always been a good fit with other family commitments. We are keen to accommodate everyone, so we are no longer making this distinction, however it will be preferable if, where possible, complete beginners book for the early summer weeks and those with some previous experience book in the later summer weeks. The Club is an RYA Training Centre for dinghy sailing and this course will be an RYA Youth Learn to Sail course run by qualified instructors. In general, the younger sailors will sail Optimist dinghies and the older sailors will sail Laser Pico dinghies. We also have Wayfarers which are larger dinghies which will accommodate the instructor as well as students and are useful when conditions are more challenging and for sailors who need the added confidence of having the instructor in the same boat as themselves. Instructors will allocate boats on the basis of age, size and ability. The courses will run Mondays to Thursdays from 10:00 to 16:00 throughout the summer holidays from RCIYC and will cost, including cadet membership, is £310.00 per sailor. Sailing is weather dependent, particularly for less experienced sailors. If we do not sail because of the weather we will try to organise sailing related activities ashore. Because we have to commit to instructors, we cannot guarentee refunds in the event of cancellation by the students.
