Safeguarding is part of day to day practice within FNHC and leaning from the work we do is essential to improve practice and provide quality care. In order to evidence and capture the learning that is taking place, staff are asked to keep a record of this, which is recorded on a yearly basis. These hours should be monitored and reviewed at quarterly PDP’s Mandatory Safeguarding training for each staff group is outlined in the staff training profiles and is described in detail in the intercollegiate guidelines available in central filing. The following page provides an at a glance guide for staff who wish to understand how to keep up to date with their safeguarding learning. Safeguarding learning can be captured in the following ways: · Safeguarding training via Health & Community Services (HCS). · Safeguarding training via Safeguarding Partnership Board (SPB) · Safeguarding training via FNHC, including Virtual College courses and policies. · Third sector training, e.g. Women’s Refuge. · Practice Learning Events. · Serious case reviews. In addition the following can also count towards learning hours: · Attendance at safeguarding restorative supervision · Writing court reports · Delivering safeguarding training · Organisational specific events · Research, further study, being part of innovative working parties. · Reading articles/case studies, sharing and discussing with colleagues. PRIVACY STATEMENT – The information collected during the booking of any Family Nursing & Home Care education event will be used by us to update our training & attendance records, and the data will be stored on a secure portal where access is restricted to the our Education & Development Team. This data will be retained in line with our retention policy. Other than with the course instructor, your data will not be shared with any other third party except with your express consent or unless permitted/required by law.
