Jersey’s towering north coast arguably boasts the Island’s most dramatic scenery and finest panoramas. There’s also a less known wealth of fascinating history waiting to be viewed and abundant intriguing stories to uncover. Discover these connections to the past on this circular ramble around St John’s countryside and coastline in the company of historian and guide Ian Ronayne. Visit a forgotten Iron Age fortification and explore isolated German defences. Length:Three hours / five miles Grade:Moderate / challenging: mostly on roads and pavements, but includes a stretch of cliff path. Appropriate footwear essential and weather appropriate clothing. Meeting place: St John’s Churchyard (public parking around the church or opposite)
