Guardians of our land

Sorel Point La Rue du Sorel Trinity JE3 Jersey

Details

Guardians of our land - with Louise Whale, The National Trust for Jersey This walk invites reflection on our relationship with the land, how it has shaped us, and how we must now care for it in return. Louise from the National Trust for Jersey shares how Jersey’s landscapes hold a living record of how we’ve worked with, and at times against, nature. Through careful habitat management such as conservation grazing and rewilding, this landscape is slowly recovering. From traditional land use to shifting ecological knowledge, the way we care for our environment reflects the future we choose to grow. Louise Whale is a Conservation Officer with the National Trust for Jersey, championing rewilding, biodiversity and habitat restoration. She brings Jersey’s wild spaces to life through practical action. Learn more about the Trust’s work at nationaltrust.je Meet at Route du Nord car park, opposite Les Fontaines Tavern, St John. Bus route 7. Duration: Allow 1.30 hours. Difficulty: 🔵🔵🔵⚪⚪ Moderate, to challenging in places. A few inclines, and uneven ground along coastal paths. Wear sensible footwear, such as trainers, as you’ll be walking over uneven surfaces and potentially muddy surfaces. And dress for the weather.
