Meet our guide who trained as part of a team of Islanders to monitor radioactive fallout from this communications command centre, passing and receiving messages from other bunkers throughout the UK and Europe. Experience the control centre and communications hub complete with the technology of the time where the team worked together to plot data on situations boards. Explore the meteorological and radio rooms where public safety information would have been broadcast and take a look at the living quarters where the team would eat and sleep in the event of a nuclear emergency.
