Restoring St Ouen’s Bay - with Mike Stentiford, Jersey National Park Join Mike Stentiford, MBE, for an amble through the landscape around the Frances Le Sueur Centre - once a site of environmental degradation, now home of Jersey’s National Park. Through personal insights and reflections, Mike shares the story of St Ouen’s Bay’s transformation: from unchecked dumping and near-development to a place of renewal, conservation and pride. This walk is a reminder of what nature can achieve when given space to recover - and to the lasting impact of giving land the freedom to thrive once more. Mike Stentiford MBE, the driving force behind Jersey’s conservation story, former President of the National Trust for Jersey and inspired the creation of the Jersey National Park. Parts of the bay were used as an unofficial dumping ground, strewn with animal bones, builder’s rubble, and general waste. Its natural beauty was overshadowed by the scars of careless human impact.
